Our Aims & Ethos

Our aim is to ensure that each child in our care fulfils his or her potential. We would like every child to become the best that he or she can be.

In each nursery, we aim to offer outstanding care and a rich education through a broad curriculum, which inspires enjoyment, learning and achievement.

Our ethos is encapsulated in our motto:

'Where Learning is fun for everyone' .

We place a high value on ensuring that our nurseries provide a place where children look forward to each day that they attend because they are going to have fun and where their natural curiosity and creativity is nurtured - not stifled.

Helen Cornock, the founder of the Mia-Rose Nursery Schools says:

"I have many years experience in early years education and the ethos of my nurseries has evolved over time. It is based, in part, upon experience, both mine and others, in part upon the Reggio Emilia and HighScope approaches and, last but not least, the EYFS.

I believe that children learn through planned purposeful play with each child’s uniqueness underpinning the daily routine.

Our ethos encourages children to become independent, confident and caring. It is important to us that when they leave the nursery they are prepared to be lifelong learners.

I believe that all families are important - My family play a big part in my nurseries - my son manages Parkend Nursery! Other family members also contribute - we all share a wholehearted commitment to our ethos.

When my son attended university he was touched and inspired by two poems. You can read these poems by clicking on the links below - I hope you will be inspired as we have been. These are now used as part of our staff development program helping us to embed our ethos into our practice."
